What is it?
Simply put, a chance for your kids to explore our farm and learn where their food comes from. We believe that every child should see and know where their food comes from.
In today’s fast-paced, on-demand world, so many kids and families have lost the connection with their food. Everything is pre-packaged and conveniently located in the grocery store aisle, disconnected from the person and the soil that grew it. This is an opportunity to restore that connnection.
Plus, kids get so excited on a farm. There are so many new and interesting things to see and explore. Their little minds soak everything up like a sponge.
The event will feature a hay ride through the pasture to meet some of the animals and learn about how healthy food is raised. We will also read a short story written by my farm mentor, Joel Salatin! And, to top off the day, there will be a craft to make, as well as a snack for your kids to take home.
The day is geared toward toddlers and elementary kids, but any ages are welcome to experience the farm. Even teens will learn something!
